What is the baggage you are carrying that no longer serves you? What do you want to leave behind in 2025 so you can clear a path into 2026?
Clear the Way is an immersive, family-friendly installation for Newcastle’s Enchanted City festival (December 2025), inviting audiences into a dreamy “emotional baggage drop-off” beneath a constellation-filled night sky.
Inspired by the Kessler Syndrome and Unfolding Theatre’s production Night Classes, the experience uses the metaphor of space junk to explore the ideas, habits and feelings we no longer need.
Guided by performer-hosts and surrounded by Lady Kitt’s illuminated sculptures and Beccy Owen’s audio landscape, visitors write what they want to leave behind on chalked luggage tags and hang them overhead, collectively creating a glowing universe of released burdens and renewed possibilities.
This is an unusual, dreamy and thought-provoking experience, suitable for audiences of all ages.
