NortHFutures

Unfolding Theatre is currently undertaking research as part of a multidisciplinary team of youth workers, practitioners and researchers into improving young people’s mental health in Gateshead.

This year-long scoping research project has been made possible by the NortHFutures Hub, and is funded as part of a collaboration between Northeast universities: Newcastle, Northumbria, Cumbria, Durham, Sunderland and Teesside.

The ultimate aim is to work towards a digital health solution to improve the mental health of young people in Gateshead.

You can find out more about the 15 funded projects below.

We worked with young people and practitioners in Gateshead to explore barriers to accessing mental health support. This short film was created with and for young people to understand what we found.

This film was co-created, illustrated and performed by Amelia, Georgie, Haydn, Ivy-vo & Riley at Edberts House in Felling.

This project was funded by a Northern Health Futures (NortHFutures) research grant. NortHFutures is a collaborative digital health hub that addresses unmet health and care needs of populations in the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) region of the UK. NortHFutures funds and facilitates responsible cross-sector health-tech design research, innovation, training, and knowledge exchange.
