We celebrate that each of us are unique and special in our own way.

Right Now People offers a space to young creatives from the North East to get involved with creative making and ideas sharing. We turn our lives and ideas into creative journeys through art, music, video and creative writing.

We use art, animation, music, film, theatre and creative writing to make fun, thought provoking and exciting creative projects together. We respond to the skills, talents and interests of the young people in the group to be creative. We can offer support to young people hoping to express themselves creatively or want to pursue creative careers.

Right Now People currently meets online every Monday evening between 17:15 and 18:15, but we’re hoping to return to in-person sessions soon, meeting twice a month in central Newcastle.

Sessions are facilitated by Luca Rutherford.

Right Now People is free to attend and meets once a week via Zoom, if you would like to join in please contact us by Email

The Beginning of the End

The Beginning Of The End is an original short story co-created by Sharney, Lexi, Jack, Ian, Sam, Garry and Luca, who are part of Unfolding Theatre’s Right Now People.

Alex wakes up to the sound of sirens and finds themselves at the start of a peculiar adventure.

This is a sci-fi mystery story. There are a few ways you can experience The Beginning Of The End, either listen to it with music (originally composed by Jack) or just with audio, or read it.

The RNP Manifesto

Who we are:

We are a family of creative, neuro-diverse people who are wanting to work together to:

1. Make amazing things
2. Change the world a little bit at a time
3. Support each other

What we do

1. We make stories, art, music and media.
2. We celebrate that each of us are unique and special in our own way.
3. Right now we meet once a week online.

We want to be part of a future that:

“Is full of equality and diversity.” Sharney
“Accepts the more unique side of humanity.” Jack
“Is safe and secure.” Ian

Thoughts from Right Now People:

“I’m not really an out-going person, I get along with people but I don’t usually introduce myself to people but after right now people I feel like I can” - Ian

“I think we stand for people who feel like their voice isn’t heard in the world. For years I thought I was one of those people. I thought that no one was fighting for me. Sometimes you find yourself in a place where you think no one understands you. No one can fight for you if no one understands you. I want to be one of the people who fights for everyone.” - Jack

“Sees disabled people being appreciated and respected the same as people who don’t have disabilities.” - Lexi
